The Home Minister also mourned the deaths in the recent rainfall incidents in the state. Shah said, “At the beginning of the festival, we experienced a very sad moment. More than ten people lost their lives. I pay tribute to all the people killed. ”On September 23, at least 11 people died after torrential rains in Kolkata and surrounding areas. Shah described the Durga Puja festival of Bengal as a cultural heritage, which is praised all over the world. He said, “This nine -day Navratri festival has become famous not only in Bengal and India but all over the world. The whole world sees this great tradition of Bengal with great enthusiasm. For nine days, everyone in Bengal is devoted to worshiping power. ”

Shah said, “The festival of Durga Puja takes Bengal to new heights and through the development of the state, we are able to realize the idea of a developed India, which our leader Narendra Modi has seen.” The Home Minister also inaugurated the Durga Bang Sanskriti Manch of BJP -backed West Bang Sanskriti Manch at the Eastern Regional Cultural Center (EZCC) in Salt Lake.
