Ballu Khan, chairman of the Hathi Village Development Committee, says- Hathi village has 64 female and one male elephant. 28 -year -old Chanda and 19 -year -old Pushpa Shahi are particularly trends for welcoming. Usually white yellow rashes emerge on foreheads, face and ears when Asian elephants are 10–12 years old. These rashes look like panther or leopard spots with aging. Pushpa’s color is ruddy black even at the age of 19.
The nature of both female elephants is very calm. Both villages are also friendly with tourists visiting. Keeping in mind the security and protocol of the US Vice President, both female elephants have been chosen due to these qualities.
Amer Mahal will be decorated at Jaleb Chowk Ballu Khan will reach Jaleb Chowk in Amer Mahal at 6 am on April 22 with Pushpa and Chanda. Both will be decorated there. The raw natural colors prepared in the house will be painted on the face, forehead, trunk, ears and feet.

Fifth generation is doing this work Ballu Khan says that this is his fifth generation to earn a livelihood by raising elephants. About 350 years ago, his ancestors used to work as Shahi Mahavats for the Kachhwaha dynasty.
For him, Mohalla Mahavatan has also been settled by the royal family in Ghatgate, Jaipur. 25000 people are still living here today. All are relatives as each other. Elephants are reared like the most special member of the family. From the time of the princely state of Amer, his ancestors used to take care of the monarchy elephants and training.
However, now some youth have become doctors and engineers by reading and writing. Some have even settled in America and other countries.

Ballu Khan says that the daily cost per elephant is more than 4 thousand rupees. Out of 1500, the elephant owner gets only 1200 rupees. In such a situation, there are many challenges coming home and the maintenance of elephants with the family.
