Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Tuesday justified Operation Sindoor against Pakistan and emphasized that state sponsored terrorism would have to be stopped. His remarks directly referred to the recent inflammatory comments of Pakistan’s Army Chief General Aseem Munir about Kashmir, which highlighted the continuous support of terrorism across the border. General Chauhan’s statement underlined India’s resolve to directly counter such threats and emphasize his sovereignty.

Anil Chauhan said that the initial point of this special war was Pahalgam terrorist attack. Is terrorism a rational task of war? I do not think this is because there is no defined argument of terrorism. He further said that as far as our opponent is concerned, he has decided to shed blood by giving thousands of wounds to India. In 1965, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto announced a one thousand -year war against India while addressing the United Nations Security Council.
Speaking about Operation Sindoor, Chauhan strongly said that the country “will not be in the shadow of terror and nuclear blackmail.” His comment came to discuss the argument behind the launch of Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, underlining India’s resolve to combat state -sponsored terrorism and nuclear pressure. He said that on May 10, at around 1 pm, his (Pakistan) goal was to force India to kneel in 48 hours. Many attacks were carried out and somehow they further increased this struggle, in which we really targeted only terrorist bases. Operation that he felt that it would run for 48 hours, finished in about 8 hours and then he picked up the phone and said that he wanted to talk.

Referring to Pakistan’s response, he said, “Pakistan asked to reduce tension,” which is a sign of change in the trend of neighboring country. Considering the terrible incident of Pahalgam, who was allegedly launched Operation Sindoor, General Chauhan described it as “a severe cruelty towards the victims as they were shot in front of their families and their children in front of their families and their children and were shot in the name of religion … which is unacceptable to this modern world.”
