CDS Anil Chauhan will address Shangri La talks in Singapore on Saturday

India’s Chief Defense President (CDS) Anil Chauhan is in Singapore to participate in the 22nd Shangri La talks to be held here from Friday to Sunday. Shangri La Dialogue is considered one of the largest defense forums.

During this important talks, General Chauhan will express his views on the subject ‘Future War and War Akala’ on Saturday. Chauhan will also participate in special sessions under the program and express his views on “Defense Innovation Solutions for Future Challenges”.

Officials said that General Chauhan will also hold bilateral meetings with senior defense officials and military leaderships of Australia, European Union, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippine, Singapore, Britain and USA.

These negotiations are likely to focus on strengthening military relations, increasing defense cooperation and resolving shared security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

According to South Asian observers, Shangri La talks is a major defense event where defense experts will try to understand the landscape related to India and Pakistan. French President Emmanuel Macron, Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth will also address talks.

Defense experts from 47 countries, including 40 minister-level representatives, are expected to participate in the event. According to the report, China’s Defense Minister Dong will not send it to the annual talks on June.

Instead, the delegation of the ‘People’s Liberation Army National Defense University’ will attend a three-day conference, which will be intensively discussed on defense matters, especially the US-China trend on Taiwan and the jurisdiction in the South China Sea. According to the ‘Strait Times’ newspaper, this is the first time since 2019 that China is not sending its Defense Minister to this platform.
