Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan will visit Singapore from May 30, 2025 to June 20, 2025 and will participate in the 22nd edition of the Shangri-La talks to be conducted every year by the International Strategic Studies Institute. During the visit, General Anil Chauhan will hold bilateral meetings with chiefs and senior military leadership of defense forces of several foreign countries including Australia, European Union, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, UK and USA. The Chief of Defense Staff will address academics, think tanks and researchers and speak on the theme ‘Future War and War’.

Will also participate in special sessions held simultaneously as part of the program and address the topic ‘Defense Innovation Solution for Future Challenges’. Shangri-Lae talks is the major defense and security summit of Asia that brings together to the defense ministers, military heads, policy makers and strategic experts from all over the world. In this program, leaders of 40 countries will discuss Indo-Pacific security challenges. The meeting will provide a platform to strengthen defense cooperation, discuss mutual safety interests and increase India’s strategic partnership in the Indo-Pacific region.

French President Emmanuel Macron, Malaysia Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will also address the dialogue, which is expected to attend defense experts from 47 countries, which will include 40 ministerial delegates. According to reports, China will not send Defense Minister Dong to the annual talks on June, which is different from the high-level representation of Beijing on the annual security stage in recent years, where issues related to the South China Sea were often exposed through presentations of ideas by American and Chinese experts.
