MOC was launched in 2018
MOC’s co-founder Dr. Kitness Joshi said that MOC was started in 2018. The objective was to offer affordable treatment for breast cancer. Cancer patients have two options. First offered treatment at the government hospital. Second, go to a personalized hospital where the treatment is very expensive. A large number of cancer patients are forced to get treatment in small hospitals where the quality of the treatment is poor. The MOC has been established to provide affordable and proper treatment to the cancer patients.
Dr. Vashmate Moniants said that in the city like Mumbai was also available in large hospitals like Reliance, Hinduja and Tata Memorial government hospitals. These have to wait hours for treatment. Take several weeks to get an appointment for the scan. The hospital like Tata Memorial can only treat patients in limited numbers. MOC has started a community cancer clinic. These are small centers, but all the facilities of treatment are available. This makes the cost of treatment quite a lot.
Joshi said that the cancer patient comes first in the MOC’s OPD. His tests are done there. Lab screening is done. Then the built in India and abroad medications are made as per his needs. The patient is provided essential treatment including chemotherapy in a semi-ICU Day care setup. During this time the patient is kept under constant supervision of the oncologist while specialists in other hospitals come to meetings only.
