BSF intercepted a drone on the border, seized drugs worth Rs 14 crore

Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) has been foiling the attempts of Pakistani smugglers along the Punjab border. BSF personnel have succeeded in shooting down this fifth drone in four days. After the incident, along with the drone, the jawans also seized a consignment of heroin, the international value of which is around Rs 14 crore.

The BSF got this breakthrough in Bhaini Rajputana, a border village under BOP Rajatal of Amritsar. BSF jawans of Battalion 144 were on patrol at the time of the incident. At around 10 pm, the sound of a drone was heard. After which the soldiers started firing. After some time the sound of the drone stopped. After this, the area was sealed and a search operation was started.

BSF Commandant Ajay Kumar Mishra said that the drone was found crashed in the fields. To which a bag was tied. On opening, 2 packets of suspected heroin were recovered. In which 2.1 kg of heroin has been seized. 3 drones have been recovered from the fields near the border and one drone fell in the Pakistan border.

The type of drone seized by BSF is DJI Matris 300 RTK. This drone easily receives small and light weight shipments across the border. This cargo can take off with a weight of 3 to 5 kg easily and a maximum load of 9 kg. Let it be known that the BSF jawans succeeded in seizing 4 drones in 2 days last Saturday and Sunday.
