BSF Director General reviews security situation at the border in Jammu and Kashmir

Border Security Force (BSF) Director General (DG) Daljit Singh Chaudhary reviewed the overall security scenario on the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized the importance of continuous vigilance and military readiness in maintaining the security of the nation.

Chaudhary on Thursday visited the shell affected areas of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir and reviewed the current security situation. The BSF wrote on the social media forum ‘X’, “BSF DG Daljit Singh Chaudhary chaired a meeting to review and strengthen the steps to maintain supremacy on the border in the Jammu area at Jammu Frontier Headquarters.”

The DG reviewed the existing campaign strategies, challenges and overall security scenario on the international border during the meeting. He emphasized the importance of constant vigilance, coordination and military readiness in maintaining the security of the nation.

The Director General of BSF also stressed the need to increase security due to the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. According to the announcement made by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), the 38 -day pilgrimage of the 3,880 meter high cave temple in South Kashmir will begin on July 3 and end on August 9.

This journey can be done by two routes – a traditional 48 km route through Pahalgam in Anantnag, South Kashmir and Baltal route with a small but more steep climb of 14 km in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir. The Center has ordered 580 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to be deployed for the annual Amarnath Yatra.
