Boeing 787 check will be required before every flight, engine control and take off will be reviewed

Air India has announced a possible delay on long distance routes with the orders of India’s Aviation Regulatory, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), as well as a mandatory security inspection of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet as well as long distance routes. The move has been taken in view of the horrific accident of Air India 787 aircraft going from Ahmedabad to London, resulting in at least 265 people. The accident, which took place immediately after the flight, hit a residential building with a residential building of doctors residence near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. This is the first fatal accident associated with Boeing 787 since this model joined the commercial service in 2011.

Till Saturday, Air India confirmed that it has completed the required one -time security check on nine Dreamliner aircraft and is on track to complete the remaining 24 aircraft investigations “within the deadline provided by the regulator”. These inspection aircraft are being carried out on their return to India, each of which will have to undergo complete review before being approved for the next operation.

Security measures are focused on Dreamliner powered by GenX engine and involves checking important systems such as:

Fuel parameter monitoring

Cabin Air Compression System

Electronic engine control units

Engine Actuter Oil System

Hydraulic system integrity

Takeoff performance parameter

DGCA has also spoken about repeated technical faults in Boeing 787 aircraft in the last two weeks. As a result, all such problems should be solved before the normal operation of the aircraft resumes. All 787 flights flying from India from June 15 will have to undergo compulsory inspection before departure, as well as require additional power assurance and flight control check within two weeks.
