Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Kolkata on a two -day visit to West Bengal on Saturday night. This will be his first visit to the state after the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’. Shah will participate in several official and party programs on Sunday. According to the official program, the Home Minister will start his day with the inauguration of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Rajarhat, the outskirts of Kolkata.
Later, Shah will address BJP leaders and officials at the party conference at Netaji Indoor Stadium. The party’s internal sources said that the meeting is expected to focus on BJP’s roadmap for West Bengal before the 2026 assembly elections. BJP state president and Union Minister Sukant Majumdar said, “Amit Shah will give us a roadmap for the next assembly elections in the state.”
Shah will also visit Swami Vivekananda’s ancestral home in Shimla Street, Northern Kolkata. This is the first visit to West Bengal after the military action launched after the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April. His visit is taking place two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stormy tour of North Bengal, which outlines the constant focus of the central leadership on the state.
