BJP hates Nehru so much that the metro station was also not named after him: Raut

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hated Jawaharlal Nehru so much that the name of the country’s first Prime Minister (Nehru) was not included in the name of the Metro Railway Station located near Nehru Science Center in Worli area of Mumbai.

Raut said that Nehru Science Center is a historical site of Mumbai, but the Metro Line 3, which is an underground route and also known as the ‘Aqua’ line, is called only science museum station.

The Rajya Sabha member said that a metro station located on the Dahisar-Andheri Marg, also known as Line-7A and ‘Red’ line, is named National Park Station, as it is close to Sanjay Gandhi National Park (in Borivali). Raut said that Sanjay Gandhi’s name has not been included in the name of this station.

The Shiv Sena (Ubatha) leader said, “If someone hates so much, it is not worth ruleing the country.” Raut said that Nitin Gadkari is the BJP and the most intelligent minister at the Center, but he fears that action will be taken against Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi to “praise”.

At an event held in Nagpur on Sunday, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Gadkari remembered the comments of Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru, speaking about creating more employment opportunities in Vidarbha.

The senior BJP leader had said, “Nehruji used to say that we need maximum production, while Gandhiji used to say that we need maximum production with maximum participation of people.”

Raut alleged that the BJP wants to create a situation like Godhra (Gujarat) in Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir) and wanted to entangle the country into a Hindu-Muslim struggle.
