Amidst the ongoing controversy over the name of the name in the voter list (voter list) in Bihar, the Central Election Commission has given great relief to the people. The Commission has made it clear by giving big advertisements in newspapers across the state that now without full necessary documents and photos can be filled and submitted. This form will have to be given to the booth level officer (BLO).
Which documents are necessary?
The Election Commission has said that if you have the necessary documents, then your application will proceed quickly. But, even if you do not have the necessary documents, there is no need to panic. In such a situation, the election officials can take a decision on your application based on local investigation or other evidence. Another major relief is that people who are already included in the voter list by January 1, 2003 will not have to submit any documents with the form.

What was the whole matter?
In fact, the Election Commission is doing a very close investigation into the voter list in Bihar. Under this, about 2.93 crore voters born in Bihar after 1987 had to show their date of birth and birthplace as well as documents that confirmed their parents’ date of birth and birthplace. This decision was severely criticized by many opposition parties, as it was considered very difficult.
The Election Commission had earlier made it necessary to give one of the 11 special documents for those whose names were not in the 2003 voter list. These 11 documents included birth certificate, caste certificate, forest rights certificate and pension payment orders for government employees. However, the Aadhaar card was not in the list of these 11 documents. According to the new advertisement of the Election Commission, the last date to submit the form is 26 July, and the last list of the voter list will be released on 30 September.
