Students of Bihar have been assaulted at Guru Kashi University in Punjab. A student has pleaded for help by sharing the video on X on 21 March.

The student’s name is Ali Anjar. He is a resident of Bahuara village in Kamatul block of Darbhanga district. Ali is doing BTech from Guru Kashi University.

In the video, Ali Anjar is saying- ‘Local students and people here are attacking us. They enter with a sword. Many people have tore their heads. The guard also does not listen.

‘Police and administration are not listening to us. Most students of Bihar have been beaten up. The whole day stays inside the hostel. Clothes and Hindi language start killing as soon as they listen. We have no security here.

Ali Anjar has tagged this video by tagging Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and demanded security.

Brother said- Government should give protection to the children of Bihar

Mohammad Sohram, brother of Ali Anjar, told- ‘My brother studies at Guru Kashi University. It is learned that they are being beaten there. Brother is very scared. There is no food in the house since yesterday. We are upset. Bihar government should take cognizance. It is only yesterday, my brother has entered the hostel and hit it. The head of 2 people has also been broken. Brother was telling that 100-200 people enter the campus and beat.

Ali Anjar’s aunt said- ‘For the last one week, there have been frequent assaults, due to which the family members are very upset.’ He has appealed to the government to intervene soon and ensure the safety of students.

DSP said- University said that our case is settled

Talwandi DSP Rajesh Sanehi said- ‘On March 17, 18 and 19, cultural programs were organized at Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo. To promote these programs, students had deposited money for cultural presentations of various states. Students of Bihar also contributed to presenting their cultural performance.

During this time there was a dispute between the two groups over the money collected. On receiving the information of this incident, the university administration informed the police station Talwandi Sabo. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and controlled the situation.

‘Subsequently, the university administration made a written statement to the police, in which they clarified that they do not want any legal action in the matter and would solve it through internal disciplinary process. After giving necessary instructions, all the students were released.
