The central government is going to provide insurance protection to one lakh hectares of water sector under the Prime Minister Fisheries Kisan Samriddhi – Scheme across the country. In this episode, applications have been invited for the water agricultural insurance scheme on the NFDP portal for fishermen who raise indigenous fish in fresh water. This initiative of the government will empower the fish farmers in fresh water like katala, common carp, mrigal, rohu, silver carp etc. and will eventually increase the income of fish farmers.

This scheme will get the benefit of the insurance scheme under the Prime Minister Fisheries Kisan Samriddhi -Scheme Scheme, the subcutaneous farmers, fishermen, fisheries, including fisheries, fisheries, self -help groups, cooperative institutions, including fisheries, farmers, self -help groups, cooperative institutions. To take advantage of this, it is mandatory for fishermen to be registered on the NFDP portal. Two types of insurance option will be available
The scheme has two types of insurance – basic insurance and comprehensive insurance option available. Basic insurance provides protection towards floods, cyclones, pollution, drought and other natural disasters. At the same time, additional risks arising due to the risks under comprehensive insurance basic insurance, as well as diseases etc. in the fish, are also covered.

There is a provision for payment of incentive amount to farmers who have purchased insurance premium amount by paying insurance premium amount by paying 40 percent of the premium amount. Under the scheme, the maximum limit of One Time Intensive is Rs 1 lakh, this benefit will be given to small farmers as incentives. Additional 10 percent incentive amount will be given for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and women, ie a total of 1.10 lakhs.
