Bihar has a strong network of woven rural roads in 20 years

Rural roads play an important role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which promotes all round development of rural areas. In the last 20 years, Bihar has set a new record in the construction of rural roads. Due to which not only the distance from remote villages of the state has decreased, but rural roads have also erased the distance from villages to villages.

In the last 20 years, the construction work of a total of one lakh, 19 thousand kilometers of roads has been completed across the state. In the two decades, the total network of rural roads in the state is 8,000 km. 1,19,000 km more than 1,19,000 Has been more than. The Rural Works Department has also constructed 2,560 bridges in the last 20 years. Which is providing perennial road connectivity to 1 lakh, more than 20 thousand rural settlements of the state. Due to which the rural areas of the state have now been facilitated in every season. This ‘road revolution’ has strengthened the infrastructure of the state as well as improved rural connectivity. Due to which the rural population of Bihar has also been provided a smooth route to reach education, health and its employment.

According to the Rural Affairs Department, under the Rural Path Maintains Policy-2018, a total of 36,894 km of rural roads have also been successfully maintained across the state. According to the department, the construction of 12,500 rural roads in the state is currently in progress. Also, the construction work of 1,791 rural bridges is also being completed rapidly.

This network of roads in rural areas of Bihar is connecting the rural population with smooth means of traffic and is also connecting the industries of the villages to the market of cities. Today, farmers have started getting the right price for their product from the network of roads. Due to these unprecedented changes, there has been an increase of more than 700 percent in per capita income in the state. This growth has been possible due to the connecting of perennial roads of villages in Bihar. The positive result of the construction of these roads is that the establishment of new industries in the state, the continuous increase in the number of tourists at tourism sites, has also gained a boost.

Bihar in first place in the country for compensation in road accident

Bihar ranks first in the country in compensation to those injured or killed in road accidents. There is a provision to give 50 thousand rupees on serious injuries and Rs 2 lakh for death under a scheme to give compensation to motor accident victims. Under this, 9 thousand 80 cases related to hit and run have been sent to the General Insurance Council (GIC) for final permission, so that they can be compensated. In this, the victims have been compensated in 5 thousand 830 cases so far. This information was given by ADG (Traffic) Sudhanshu Kumar in a press conference held in the auditorium of Sardar Patel Bhavan on Friday. The ADG said that in the last one and a half to two years, a compensation of Rs 84 crore 19 lakh has been given in 1626 cases. MACT (Motor Accident Claim Tribunal) has been formed in 10 districts Patna, Saran, Purnia, Gaya, Dehri, Saharsa, Munger, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur to settle the cases related to road accident on time. There is a provision to complete the settlement of cases in 6 months, 9 months and maximum 12 months.
