Bihar Elections: Jitan Ram Manjhi’s big bet, HAM declared all its 6 candidates

Former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) on Tuesday announced its six candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections amid the ongoing deadlock over seat sharing in the ruling alliance. Under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seat sharing, HAM was allotted six seats. The party has now finalized the names of its candidates for all the seats on which it will contest.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released its first list of 71 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. According to an official statement of the party, this list was released. Voting for the 243-seat assembly will be held on November 6 and November 11, while counting of votes will take place on November 14. According to the release, the BJP Central Election Committee meeting was held on October 12 under the chairmanship of Jagat Prakash Nadda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and other members of the Central Election Committee were present in this meeting.

The Central Election Committee approved the names of Mangal Pandey from Siwan, Tarkishore Prasad from Katihar, Ramkripal Yadav from Danapur, Nitin Naveen from Bankipur, Renu Devi from Bettiah, Prem Kumar from Gaya Town, Shreyasi Singh from Jamui, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha from Lakhisarai and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary from Tarapur for the Bihar Assembly elections. Earlier on Sunday, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) announced its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Bihar elections, in which BJP and JDU will contest on 101 seats each, LJP (Ram Vilas) on 29 seats, Rashtriya Lok Morcha on six seats and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) on six seats.
