Assembly elections are to be held in Bihar this year. Big news is coming from sources about this. According to the information, assembly elections to be held in 2025 can be held in two to three phases. Sources said that the election schedule is expected to be planned keeping in mind the major festivals like Diwali and Chhath. The current term of the Bihar Legislative Assembly is ending on November 22, 2025 and the election process should be completed before that.

In the last two elections, Bihar was voted in several stages. In 2020, voting was held in three phases – 71 seats on October 28, 94 seats on 3 November and 78 seats on 7 November – results were declared on 10 November. Elections were held in five stages in 2015. The news is that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will visit Bihar to review preparations later this month. Meanwhile, election officials including booth level officers (BLOs) are being trained so that accuracy can be ensured in the electoral process. The aim of the Commission is to avoid the allegations that came up about the voter list in Maharashtra, Haryana and Delhi.

To maintain transparency, the Commission has said that no appeal was filed after the publication of the final voter list in Bihar, Haryana and Delhi between 6 and 10 January 2025. All BLOs will be issued identity cards from door to door to verify voter details. A special campaign will also be launched to add the names of the first time voters who have completed the age of 18 years. To make the election management effective, the Election Commission is introducing a single-point app ECINET, an integrated digital dashboard, which changes the need to use 40 different apps and websites first. This system is expected to be completely functional till Bihar elections.
