A new turn came in the politics of Bihar on Thursday evening when the Grand Alliance officially declared Tejashwi Yadav as the chief ministerial face. Ashok Gehlot made this announcement in the press conference held in Patna. Meanwhile, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni has been made the face of the post of Deputy Chief Minister and it has been told that the name of another Deputy CM will be announced later.
It is noteworthy that this decision has become public after a long time and several rounds of negotiations regarding seat sharing. Congress also gave a message that India alliance is not the ambition of any one person but a political effort based on shared leadership and mutual respect. According to available information, at present candidates of both RJD and Congress are in the fray on some seats, while on some seats there is a situation of direct competition with smaller allies like CPI.
Here the reaction of the BJP camp has also come out swiftly. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary alleged that Lalu Prasad has declared his son as the chief ministerial face by pushing Congress and other allies into a clash of candidates. Describing it as a “black day” for democracy, he alleged that RJD rule would mean a return to the old era filled with “loot, fear and corruption”.
Let us tell you that now the Grand Alliance is also pressurizing that NDA should make public the face of the Chief Minister from its side. Ashok Gehlot clearly said that this election will not be fought under any uncertain leadership and it is necessary to fix accountability before the public. The political atmosphere in Bihar seems to be getting hotter at the moment and the contest is going to be close in the coming days.
