In the case of the murder of industrialist Gopal Khemka, the police on Tuesday arrested the alleged mastermind of the murder while achieving great success. It is believed that Patna’s iron businessman Ashok Saw hatched a conspiracy to assassinate Khemka due to business rivalry. According to senior police officials, Saw had allegedly given a betel nut of Rs 4 lakh to carry out the murder. He was arrested from his apartment under the Gandhi Maidan police station area during a late night raid.

DGP Vinay Kumar said that STF and Patna Police formed an SIT. Clues found at the scene and CCTV surveillance, motorcycle information and all the CCTV cameras of the city were searched on the basis of the shooter. He said that the SIT team went there until the motorcycle was detected. The motorcycle was identified after identifying its owner and arrested.
Senior SP Karthikeya Sharma said that all CCTV checks were done when we started searching. After doing all this, we reached the location where the accused went. When the house was searched, we found a motorcycle, and an attempt was made to tamper with the vehicle number plate. We have recovered clothes, shoes and masks worn by the accused during the crime. A person (Umesh Yadav) present at the house was brought to the police station for investigation. During the investigation he admitted the crime, and he also said that the weapon used in the crime was hidden in the house. 59 rounds of bullets were recovered during the search.
A senior Bihar Police official said that suspected businessman Ashok Kumar Saw has been detained on the basis of Umesh’s claim that he had given him a betel nut for Rs 4 lakh to kill Khemka. He said that according to the facts that have been revealed in the investigation, the shooter has been arrested, we have evidence against him. We also have evidence against Ashok Sahu, who gave the betel nut to the victim’s murder. There can be many reasons behind this, several call records will have to be checked.
Police officers have described Saw as a “sly” businessman. Patna SSP revealed that Ashok Saw is the mastermind in the Gopal Khemka murder case. ADG Kundan Krishnan said that the thing that has come out so far is land dispute in the business, there are many other reasons on which we are investigating. We have received paper from many lands and are under investigation. We have also recovered many audio clips and the dispute was not just one land, of many lands.

During the press conference, the police also heard an audio clip, which heard a sharp debate and abuse between Gopal Khemka and Ashok Saw. According to the police, Ashok Saw’s name has already come in many criminal cases. At the same time, he said about development that he has gone to jail in other cases as well. An FIR is registered against him in 9 cases. We have not received any criminal record of Umesh Yadav. We are investigating and seeing that there is no external link.
