Williamson & Company beat India by 18 runs in a two-day semi-final match due to rain. This year too, in the final of the World Test Championship, New Zealand defeated India by 8 wickets to win the first title of the Test Championship. Even during the WTC, a two-Test series was played between the two countries, in which New Zealand tasted victory in both.
