The Central Board of Direct Taxation (CBDT) has given a big relief to the taxpayers who have not yet filed their income tax returns.
The CBDT stated that income tax for the assessment year 2021-22 The last to fill out the return The date has been extended to December 31, 2021. The Finance Ministry said in a statement. The ministry said, “The last date for filing income tax returns for the assessment year 2021-2022 was earlier July 31. It was earlier extended to September 30. Now, once again, the deadline has been extended to December 31, 2021. ” This means that you can now file ITR till December 31.
This decision has been taken at a time when taxpayers are facing difficulty in filing ITR on the new ITR portal. Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had given Infosys till September 15 to rectify the flaws in the portal. In fact, the portal was created by Infosys itself.
