Bhutan Prime Minister Shering Tobge and his wife Om Tashi Doma visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya on Friday. During his visit, Bhutani dignitaries offered prayers in the temple and participated in rituals. He also inspected the temple complex. His programs in Ayodhya started after his arrival in the morning, when Uttar Pradesh Minister Surya Pratap Shahi welcomed him at the airport and welcomed him on behalf of the state government.

The journey is part of Tobge’s ongoing visit to India, which outlines close cultural and spiritual relations between India and Bhutan. His spiritual programs in Ayodhya are also associated with the broader themes of his visit, where he has highlighted the permanent value of ancient education and shared traditions. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi shrine area shared that today, the Prime Minister of Bhutan, His Majesty Dasho Sharing Tobge, with his wife, went to Ayodhya Dham to visit the Lord Shri Ramlala Sarkar at the grand Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. After visiting the Lord Ramlala Sarkar, he also visited Shri Ram Darbar and then performed Jalabhishek and Aarti of Mahadev in Kubera Tila.
Earlier, while addressing a program live on the YouTube channel of Nalanda University, Tobge emphasized that the “Nalanda Bhavna” contained in the ancient education center in Bihar should continue to flourish. Also, he assured that Bhutan will play his role in its spread and nutrition. Speaking at the event, Tobge said, “I want to thank the Government of India for continuing the tradition of Nalanda Mahavir and continuing to spread the Nalanda Bhava. And with this spirit, also to give Bhutan an opportunity to build a temple in Rajgir.”

He further expressed his praise and said, “Thank you for giving us the opportunity to visit this historic city, Rajgir.” Highlighting the role of the institute in detail, Bhutani Prime Minister said, “Today, Nalanda University is pushing Nalanda Bhavna … Learn and grow in unity with Nalanda. Nalanda Bhava should develop and we will play their role in promoting and nourishing this feeling.” During the conversation with the audience, Tobege was asked about the relationship between Bhutan and Nalanda. In response, he said, “A lot is happening between Bhutan and Nalanda, especially now when we have a temple.”
