Earlier, the Haryana government on Tuesday ordered the suspension of mobile internet, bulk SMS and dongle services for 48 hours (from 11 am on Tuesday morning) in Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri districts amid public anger over the teacher’s death. Manisha’s body was found in a field in Bhiwani on 13 August. She went missing after leaving school on 11 August, allegedly to inquire about admission to a nursing college. On Monday, the police claimed that the investigation revealed that the teenager committed suicide by consuming poison.

However, his father Sanjay rejected the conclusion on Tuesday and refused to cremate the body, demanding “justice”. He said, “The administration is saying that my daughter has committed suicide. But I can say that she can never commit suicide. Bhiwani Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar said that the alleged note was found in a bag near Manisha’s body, which also had his Aadhaar card and other documents. He also said that evidence of Manisha buying pesticides has also been found. He said, “The presence of pesticides in the body has been confirmed in the sample of viscera. Therefore, it is its own shopping, a suicide note, and poison in the body.”

Police also said that the post -mortem report has ruled out the possibility of any sexual harassment. The villagers also questioned the latest conclusions and continued to jam a major road in Bhiwani in protest. He said that Manisha will not be cremated until “justice” is found. This death caused heavy resentment, people blocked the major roads of the district and opposition parties, including the Congress, demanded a CBI inquiry. Opposition parties criticized the BJP-led state government, claiming that the alleged murder is a proof of “failure of law and order” under the saffron party rule. Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda said that the role of the state government and the police has been “careless and irresponsible”, and “an unfortunate effort is being made to prove the whole matter a suicide.”
