The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided nine places in Ahmedabad on 6 May as part of the ongoing investigation in the Waqf Board scam case. The ED searched Salim Khan Jummakhan Pathan and others. He has claimed to be a trustee of two Waqf Board-Managed Trusts “Masjid Trust of Glass” and “Shah Bada Kasam Trust”.
The ED launched an investigation on the basis of FIR lodged by Police Station, Gaikwad Haveli, Ahmedabad City, Gujarat. The accused fraudulently made lease agreements, charged rent from tenants and presented false affidavits to the Waqf Board.
He also built shops on the trust of the trust and charged the rent. They have illegally built about 150-200 houses and 25-30 shops and are illegally charging rent from tenants despite the Waqf Board not being appointed trustee. In addition, several other objectionable documents and digital devices have also been seized.
