Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday challenged the authority of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) and expressed surprise whether he has any “copyright” on celebrating programs like Guru Tegh Bahadur’s upcoming 350th Martyrs Day.
This comment came a day after SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami’s statement, in which he said that only SGPC is responsible for organizing the event and not the state government. Dhami emphasized the superiority of SGPC in the matter after the state government announced to organize several programs on this day in November.
