Calling for greater coordination and teamwork between the BSF and the Punjab Police, Special DGP Arpit Sukla said that it is high time that the two security forces work together and in better coordination to combat drone operations along Punjab’s borders. should He also emphasized the need for evidence-based and proactive policing to curb the cross-border smuggling of drugs and arms into Punjab.

The Special DGP asked the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of the border districts to make the police force more robust and ready from the security point of view, which would help prevent drug shipments being dropped by criminals on the Indian side through drones.

They also discussed strategic locations and hotspots in border villages to install CCTV cameras to monitor Indian nationals involved in cross-border smuggling. He asked the BSF officials to share information about the activities of the suspects with the Punjab Police so that they can keep a close watch on their activities and initiate legal action against those found involved in any criminal activities. can be ensured

Special DGP Arpit Sukla directed the CPJs/SSPs to increase police posts in their respective jurisdictions especially at night and ensure maximum vehicle checking at every checkpoint to prevent terrorist and criminal activities. can be stopped. He also proposed activation of Village Security Committees (VDCs) in border areas to prevent nexus between smugglers and criminals in border areas.
