Venkatesh has alleged in a complaint lodged at Cuban Park Police Station in Bangalore that Kohli promoted gambling through IPL and provoked people to gather in large numbers, leading to stampede. Venkatesh said that IPL is not a game but a form of gambling that has contaminated cricket. Virat Kohli is the most prominent face of the RCB team and is involved in this gambling. He further said that Kohli and his team should be accused in the FIR and legal action against him

According to the ANI News Agency, police officials said that the complaint lodged against Virat Kohli will be reviewed under the investigation of the current case. No separate FIRs have been filed against him so far.

A total of four people have been arrested so far in this Mamamle. These include senior RCB official Nikhil Sosale and three people associated with event management. He was arrested from the Kempe Gowda International Airport in a joint action of Cuban Park Police and Central Crime Branch on the morning of 6 June.
