Bengaluru Stampede: Bail to RCB official, will not be able to go outside the country, court ordered

June 4 was happy for RCB fans, when his favorite team won the IPL Trophy for the first time in 18 years. But this celebration soon turned into mourning, when 11 people died in a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and 56 people were injured. After the accident, RCB’s marketing and revenue head Nikhil Sosale and two employees of DNA Entertainment Network, Kiran Kumar and Sunil Mathew were arrested. Now the Karnataka High Court has granted interim bail to Nikhil Sosale but has also ordered him to submit his passport.
Let me tell you that on June 4, millions of fans gathered outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate RCB’s victory. The stadium has a capacity of around 35,000 spectators but the declaration of free entry pass by the organizers made the crowd uncontrollable. According to the police FIR, there was a stampede at gate number 2, 2A, 6,7,17,18,20 and 21, resulting in 11 people and injured several. Police say that the announcement of free pass distribution on RCB website became a major reason for this accident.
