Team India will not participate in the Asia Cup and Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup this year. Quoting news agency ANI, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has said that, since this morning, it has come to our notice that BCCI has decided not to send the Indian team to the Asia Cup and Women Emerging Teams Asia Cup. Both these tournaments fall under the Asian Cricket Council. Talking about yet, there is no truth in such news.
Devjit Saikia further said that there has not been any discussion on participating in the Asia Cup or not taking any ACC events. He said that BCCI’s entire focus is on the IPL tournament and the series against England.
This year the 17th Asia Cup will be played, whose host country has not been revealed yet. A total of 8 teams will participate in this tournament, including the names of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Oman, Hong Kong and UAE. On the other hand, the Women Emerging Teams Asia Cup is going to host 2025 to Sri Lanka. The tournament was first organized in 2023, when Team India won the title by defeating Bangladesh by 31 runs in the final.
