The Asia Cup 2025 has ended but the controversy over it has not yet calmed down. The first handshake and now the trophy controversy has shook the cricket world. Actually, the Women’s World Cup has started. In which the Indian women’s team defeated Sri Lanka by 59 runs in their first match. Now on 5 October, the match will be played between India and Pakistan where the handshake controversy may again come into the discussion.
In a single Asia Cup match, no Indian player joined hands with Pakistan player. Amidst this growing controversy, the question arose whether the woman would be the same in the ODI World Cup? To which BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has now replied.
In fact, on the BBC Stump Podcast, Devjit Saikia has made such a statement that has caused the whole controversy again. He said that, I cannot make any prediction. But our relationship with that enemy country is the same as before in the last one week.
The BCCI Secretary did not say anything about whether Team India will join hands with Pakistani players on 5 October. He definitely assured that Team India would not violate MCC’s guidelines in any way.
During this, Saikia said that, the Indian team will be played with Pakistan in Colombo, all the rules will be followed. I can only convey that which is written in all MCC guidelines. Then, whether it is a hugs, I cannot say anything at the moment.
