According to Sky Sports report, Rohit Sharma wanted to go on a tour of England in the next month where India has to play a 5 Test series against the English. The report quoted sources related to Indian cricket as saying that Rohit Sharma wanted to retire from the Test in the middle of the series against England. MS Dhoni announced retirement from Test in the middle of the series on the Australian tour in 2014. However, BCCI rejected Rohit Sharma’s proposal for retirement like Dhoni.
The report further stated that, the selectors wanted absurdness during the series. He told Rohit Sharma that he can be sent as a player on the tour of England but not as a captain. After this, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the Test.
