The BCCI has cleared the policy for the candidates who joined the team after Dream 11 as the sponsor of Team India. Dream 11 had to finish its contract ahead of time after the online gaming bill was passed in Parliament. In this situation, the board has been put in a problem. Because the Asia Cup can be a sponsor finding a sponsor before the start of 2025 and the men’s team’s jersey can be difficult.
According to NDTV sources, the BCCI is trying to add a new sponsor for a period of 2025-28, which will have a sponsored amount of about Rs 450 crore.
Dream 11 signed a three -year agreement with BCCI. In this, the brand would pay Rs 358 crore to BCCI during the contract. The deal had to be abolished after about two years from the date of signing of the contract.
According to NDTV sources, BCCI is now trying to find a sponsor for 140 matches from 2025 to 2028. This agreement would be better than the amount given to the board by Dream 11. The sponsorship will be for domestic and abroad bilateral matches as well as multi-team tournaments organized by the Asian Cricket Council and International Cricket Council.
The BCCI has set a target of Rs 3.5 crore for bilateral matches and Rs 1.5 crore for ICC and ACC matches. Which is more than Dream 11 but less than byju’s. As far as the Asia Cup is concerned, the board is trying to get a shirt sponsor before the start of the Mahadvipi tournament. There may be a slight delay due to short time. The board is confident that it will seal a new unit before the Women’s World Cup starting on 30 September.
