BCCI gave last warning to PCB after Women’s World Cup victory: If Asia Cup trophy is not received then issue will be raised in ICC meeting

After the Indian women’s cricket team’s historic World Cup win, the Asia Cup trophy controversy has once again gained momentum. Let us tell you that India has won the Women’s ODI World Cup for the first time by defeating South Africa by 52 runs late on Sunday night. While there is an atmosphere of celebration in the entire country after this victory, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has taken a tough stance on Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi.
According to the available information, BCCI alleges that even after the victory of the men’s team in the Asia Cup played in September 2025, the trophy has not been handed over to India yet. Saikia said that the women’s team got the trophy immediately, but the men’s team’s Asia Cup trophy is still with Pakistan and Naqvi is refusing to give it.
Saikia said that BCCI had written 10 days ago that the trophy should be handed over to India as soon as possible, but no reply was received. He told that if the trophy is not received by November 3, then BCCI will raise the matter in the ICC meeting to be held in Dubai on November 4. It is noteworthy that Naqvi is not only the ACC Chairman but is also the Home Minister of Pakistan and he has taken a very strict stance on this issue.
Meanwhile, BCCI has announced a reward of Rs 51 crore to the Indian women’s team for winning the World Cup. Apart from this, the team will also get prize money of about Rs 39.78 crore from ICC, which is part of the recently increased prize money.
Saikia also said that the 300% increase in prize money for women’s cricket is a positive sign for the women’s game. Due to this historic victory, all the players, coaches, selectors and support staff of the women’s team will be honored, for which preparations are being made.
