BCCI discovered new ‘title sponsor’, ending agreement with Dream 11

BCCI and Fantasy Sports Company Dream 11, which has been going on for two years, is now over. Board Secretary Devjit Saikia has confirmed this on Monday. He said that the board’s agreement with Dream 11 is over and now he is looking for a new lead sponsor.
Let us know that, the board has taken this decision after the recent online gaming promotion and regulation Bill 2025, who was passed in Sasand and getting the President’s approval. After the law was enacted by the law, Dream 11 has closed all its money online gaming contests.
In the year 2023, there was an agreement between BCCI and Dream 11 as the lead sponsor. This was a three -year deal with a value of Rs 358 crore. But now under the new law, real money based gaming apps have been completely banned, which has a direct impact on the price business of Dream 11.
On this occasion, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said in a conversation with the news agency IANS that under the new law, it will be difficult for BCCI to remain with Dream 11 or any other gaming company. This is a major obstacle and I do not think we will be able to move forward with Dream 11.
Dream 11 with the Indian Cricket Board has ended the agreement in the middle. There will be no penalty for this because a special clause in this contract was that the agreement can be ended if there is a situation of change in government restrictions or law. In such a situation, now Team India needs lead sponsors before the Asia Cup. If the team does not get the lead sponsor, then it will land in the Asia Cup without sponsor.
