Barcode will be compulsory on auto and e-rickshaws in Patna, vehicle and driver will get complete information on scanning

Keeping in mind the safety of passengers traveling by auto and e-rickshaws in Patna district, Patna Commissionerate has taken an important decision. It will now be mandatory to install barcode on auto and e-rickshaws obtained in the district. This barcode will record complete information about the vehicle and driver, which passengers will be able to scan and see it. Also, the enforcement team will also get all the information related to auto and drivers easily. If a driver is caught driving without a barcode, he will be fined.

Application process will start soon

The department is going to start the online application process for new permits soon. A portal is being developed for this, through which the vehicle owner Jonwar will be able to apply. Complete information about the application process will be given to the applicants through newspapers. Each vehicle owner will be able to apply for a maximum of three routes permits inside a zone, but the permit will only be issued for one root. However, with some prescribed conditions, an emergency or CNG-petrol will be allowed to drive a vehicle in other routes.

Zone based arrangement and new routes

The department is creating a new route to organize the operation of auto and e-rickshaws. Recently, the city is divided into three zones, yellow, blue and green to reduce the problem of jam. In addition, a separate zone will also be created for reserve auto and e-rickshaws. Under the new system, auto and e-rickshaws will be allowed to run only in the prescribed zone, which will facilitate traffic in the city.
