Hundreds of protesters in Bangladesh have organized a rally to demand accountability after an Air Force fighter aircraft crashed in a school in Dhaka. In this accident, 31 people, including 25 students, died. When a fighter aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force crashed in his school and caught fire, many children under the age of 12 were to return home from class. The army said that there was a mechanical malfunction in the aircraft. The army said the aircraft caught fire after flying in the afternoon. The cause of the accident is not yet known. This is the most horrific aircraft accident in Bangladesh capital in recent times. According to local media, most were injured students.

Performance of students
When two government officials reached the accident site, students from the school and nearby colleges protested. They were demanding the correct number of dead and raising slogans, why were our brothers killed? We want the answer! According to local TV footage, at other places in the capital, hundreds of protesting students, some of whom were waving lathis, broke the main gate of the federal government’s secretariat and demanding the resignation of the education advisor. The protesting students demanded to highlight the names of the dead and the injured, compensation to the families, to remove the old and risky jets from service and change the training processes of the Air Force. According to Bangladeshi Station, Jamuna TV, the police fired tears gas shells and sound grenade to disperse the crowd, injuring about 80 students.

F-7 BGI aircraft made in China
Bagladesh’s interim leader Muhammad Yunus called the incident as national mourning and spoke of investigation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the incident and offered help to Bangladesh in the matter. A training aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force crashed in a school premises in the capital Dhaka shortly after flying on Monday. In the accident, 19 people, including a pilot, died and 164 others were injured. According to an army and fire brigade official, the F-7 BGI aircraft made in China fell victim to an accident at the Milestone School and College campus located in Uttara area in the afternoon. At that time children were studying in school.
