A training aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force collided with a school building in Dhaka on Monday, killing at least one person and injured 100 others. This China-made F-7 aircraft collided with the Milestone School and College building in Uttara area of Dhaka. The accident occurred when classes were going on. In the television footage, fire and black smoke was seen rising from the accident site, while rescuers were running to take the injured to the hospital. Some students in the scenes were seen running around in the midst of chaos in a burnt and excessive blood-soaked state.

Eyewitnesses said that the ambulances were not easily available, the army personnel picked up the injured students on their lap and took rickshaw vans and other vehicles to the hospital. The Bangladeshi Air Force confirmed the accident, but did not mention the cause of it or the pilot landing or not getting out of the aircraft. The college teachers and staff carried out the initial rescue work, after which officers of the army and fire department also came with them. A teacher said that the aircraft hit the front part of the three -storey school building, causing many students to get stuck in it. According to the Daily Star report, more than 30 people have been admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Others have been taken to nearby hospitals.

Bangladesh Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus said that the government would investigate the cause of the accident and ensure all kinds of assistance. The damage done to the students, parents, teachers and staff and others of Air Force, Milestone School and College in this accident is irreplaceable. This is a very sad clock for the nation. This is the second Chinese-made F-7 that crashes this year. Last month, a F-7 fighter aircraft of the Myanmar Air Force crashed into the saging area, killing the pilot, which increased concerns over the quality of the defense equipment manufactured by Beijing.
