Social media accounts of Pakistan’s celebrities were seen in India after two months. Instagram accounts of stars like actors Mavra Hocken, Saba Qamar, Ahad Raza Mir, Yumna Zaidi and Danish Timur started opening in India. After seeing this, it started being discussed on social media and people also opposed it. Mavra Hocken called India a coward, even after this, his Instagram account was seen in India. After this, people did not like it. Now on Thursday, on Thursday, the social media accounts of many major Pakistani personalities in India were blocked once again after the ban was lifted amid the protest. Instagram and Twitter profiles of Pakistani celebrities like Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Shahid Afridi, Mavra Hocaine and Fawad Khan were not available to Indian users once again till Thursday morning.
Ban on Pak social media account restored again
This step was visible again on the social media platforms in India for some time on Wednesday. On July 2, Instagram accounts of many Pakistani celebrities including Saba Qamar, Mavra Hocaine, Fawad Khan, Shahid Afridi, Ahad Raza Mir, Yumna Zaidi and Danish Taimur started appearing for Indian users again. Apart from this, Pakistani YouTube channels like TV, ARY Digital and Har Pal Jio have also started appearing again.
There was strong opposition to the removal of the ban on social media
Fans saw the sudden visibility of these profiles, making speculation that the so -called social media “ban” was quietly withdrawn. However, now if users find a profile of Pakistani celebrities on Instagram, a pop-up message appears: “The account is not available in India. This is because we have complied with a legal request to ban this material.”
Commenting on the visibility of several Pakistani accounts in India, AICWA said that it is “an insult to the sacrifice of our martyred soldiers and a emotional attack on every Indian who lost its loved ones in the terrorist attacks carried out by Pakistan.” Referring to terrorist attacks including 26/11, Pulwama, Uri and Pahalgam, the cine body blamed Pakistan for continuing terrorism across the border and called it a “terrorist nation”. Aicwa also said that “Instead of showing regrets, many Pakistani artists have shamelessly spoken against India.”
Aicwa made three demands:
Immediate nationwide digital blackout on all Pakistani social media accounts and media channels.
A ban on all future support or publicity related to Pakistani citizens in Indian media, OTT platforms and advertisements.
A permanent cultural isolation from Pakistan as a symbol of honor of Indian armed forces and families of martyrs.
Pakistani celebrities publicly criticized India
Remarkable, no official statement has been issued by the government regarding re -implementation of the ban. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has not yet responded to the reopening of Pakistani channels and celebrity accounts in India despite the ban. The original sanctions were implemented in view of the increased tension between India and Pakistan, especially after India’s Operation Sindoor, which was a military operation targeting terrorist establishments in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK). Many Pakistani celebrities publicly criticized the operation, due to which their social media accounts were geoqling in India.
