A court in Baghpat district on Wednesday sentenced a person to life imprisonment for raping her by pretending to be married. Police officials said that according to a report lodged in 2020 by a 25 -year -old girl from a village in Baghpat Kotwali area, she worked in a company where she was befriended by a person named Sunny Tyagi.

After a long hearing, on Wednesday, Judge Baljor Singh of Additional District and Sessions Court, convicted the accused, sentenced him to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him.
