Everything you need to know about Sameer Wankhede defamation case
It started when Sameer Wankhede arrested Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the Mumbai cruise drug raid in 2021. Aryan was acquitted of all charges in 2022 and later directed ‘The Bads of Bollywood’.
In a recent hearing, the court ordered Sameer Wankhede to file an amended suit, clarifying whether his Delhi case is maintainable. Senior Wankhede advocate Sandeep Sethi led the court through the amended documents. Senior advocate Rajeev Nayyar, speaking on behalf of Netflix, opposed the suit, claiming that not all the defendants reside in the same jurisdiction.
Although no interim injunction has been issued yet, the court has also requested that the defendants respond to Wankhede’s request to remove the allegedly defamatory content from several websites. The next hearing will be held on October 30.
