According to sources, he died due to age -related diseases at the residence in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. In Tamil, he was lovingly called ‘Kannadatu Pangili’ (Parrot of Kannada). Saroja Devi made her acting debut at the age of 17 with the Kannada film ‘Mahakavi Kalidas’ (1955). The actress is also known as the first female superstar of Kannada cinema. The actress won the National Award for her performance in the first film. Another veteran actor and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.G. His Tamil film ‘Nadodi Mannan’ (1958) with Ramachandran made her one of the top actresses of Tamil cinema. Even after marriage in the year 1967, Saroja Devi remained in demand, especially in the Tamil film industry. He was also called ‘Abhinay Saraswati’.

Saroja Devi’s Bollywood debut

B Saroja Devi made her Bollywood debut in 1959 with Dilip Kumar with the film ‘Paigam’. After this, he did Hindi films like ‘Sasural’, ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’ and ‘Beti Putra’. In his Hindi film career, he also worked with Bollywood stars like Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor and Sunil Dutt besides Dilip Kumar. B Saroja Devi is one of the few actresses who acted in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films in the 1950s. After the tremendous success of the film ‘Nadodi Mannan’, B Saroja Devi was started working with other actors in Kannada cinema and gave dozens of hit films. She was a lucky mascot for MG Ramachandran. The actress worked with her in 26 films.

The final actress was married to an engineer Mr. Harsh in India Electronics (a public sector company) on 1 March 1967. At that time, Saroja was going through financial crisis and was struggling with income tax problems. With the help of her husband, she recovered from these problems and learned the method of her financial management. He suffered heavy losses due to his investment in Malaysian company VMT Enterprise.

After his marriage, Mr. Harsh supported Saroja Devi’s acting career. During an interview, Saroja was asked how he continued to act despite his mother’s constant quitting acting after 1967. The actress said, “Dilip Kumar once said that she had asked Saira Bano not to quit acting.” This story Rajesh Khanna told my husband Mr. Harsh not to stop me from acting. Mr. Harsh died in 1986 due to various health problems. And today, B Saroja Devi breathed his last at Manipal Hospital in Malleswaram, Bangalore.
