The Australian team has been announced for the 3 -match ODI series and 2 T20 matches series against India. Marnas Labushen is discharged from the ODI team while fast bowler Mitchell Starc has returned. Both Mitchell Marsh became the captain for both formats. Opener Matt Renshaw is close to debut.
If the mats were not out due to the short side strain, then there would probably have been playing Labushen against South Africa in August. Due to not being in the ODI team, he can continue efforts to return to the Test team in Sheffield Shield. He started the season by playing 160 runs against Tasmania.
At the same time, Renshaw got a chance after his best performance in List A Cricket. He scored a century for Australia A against Sri Lanka in Darwin last season. However, he is currently opening in red ball cricket and may get a chance in Ashes, but he has done quite well on number-3 and number-4 in 50 overs. Since November 2021, Renshaw has scored at an average of 48.68 with 6 out of seven centuries of his career.
Apart from this, O Mitchell Starc has been selected from last November. Alex Carrie will not be able to play in the initial match of the series in Perth to play in the second round of Sheffield Shield for South Australia. He could not play in the first match after being selected in the T20 team in New Zealand. All wicketkeeper batsman Josh has recovered from the English calf injury.
