Dr. Sharma informed that important migratory birds like gray-headed lapwing, common sandpiper, glossy ibis, red-neck faalcon, storker-bed kingfisher and white wagtel are now being seen in the plains of Bihar in the first week of September itself. Whereas earlier these birds generally appeared in mid -October. The reasons for changes in temperature, weather irregularities and better protection of waterfast are considered behind this. Experts believe that this change can also be a sign of improvement in quality of natural habitats such as rivers, ponds, forests and fields, which are providing favorable conditions for birds to stay and reproduction. These types of positive signs promote optimism towards bird conservation and environmental protection in the future.
