Speaking at an event at EIA University in Columbia, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi fiercely targeted the NDA government at the Center. He said that ‘attack on democracy’ is the biggest threat to India.
Rahul said, attack on democracy is the biggest challenge
Rahul Gandhi admitted that India has strong abilities in areas like engineering and healthcare, due to which he is optimistic about the future of the country. However, he said that the country needs to fix some ‘structural flaws’, the biggest challenge of which is a comprehensive attack on democracy.
Gandhi insisted that India is a country of many religions, traditions, languages and thoughts. The democratic system gives the best place to flourish for these diverse cultures, and this system is being attacked, which is a ‘big threat’.

BJP-RSS fiercely targeted
Rahul Gandhi also made a scathing attack on the ideology of RSS and BJP. He alleged that ‘cowardice’ is at the core of his ideology. He cited a statement of the Foreign Minister, in which he said that ‘China is much more powerful than us, so how can we fight with them?’ Gandhi called it ‘cowardice’.
To convince the ideology of the RSS, Gandhi referred to an incident from Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s book. He said that Savarkar wrote that once he and his friends had beaten a Muslim person, which he was very happy.
Gandhi said, “To beat the weak people, this is the ideology of the RSS.” Describing it as cowardice, he said that this ideology runs away from powerful people and targets weak people.

Rahul Gandhi also held the BJP-RSS responsible for the recently protests in Ladakh. He had alleged that the central government was not giving ‘voice’ to the Ladakis. Apart from this, he also accused the Center of ‘vote theft’ on the issue of voter list in Bihar.
