Athlete Akshdeep Singh won the gold medal in the Asian Championship

Indian athlete Akshdeep Singh won the gold medal in the 20 km walking race at the Asian Race Walking Championship at Nomi (Japan). Akshdeep Singh clocked 1:20:57 to achieve this feat. Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare congratulated athlete Akshdeep Singh on this achievement.

Akshdeep Singh, congratulating his parents and coaches, attributed this achievement to his hard work and coaching. He said that this was the first international competition of Akshdeep Singh, in which this achievement will boost his courage for big tournaments like Asian Games, World Championship and Olympic Games.

The Sports Minister wished Akshdeep Singh all the best for a bright future. Akshdeep Singh, a resident of Kahnake (Barnala) recently qualified for the Paris Olympic Games-2024 by setting a new national record in the 20 km walk at the National Open Walking Championship at Ranchi. The Sports Minister had given five lakh rupees to Akshdeep Singh by the Chief Minister for the preparation of the Olympics.
