Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday denied rumors of President Asif Ali Zardari to resign, calling it a malicious campaign. Naqvi wrote on X that we are fully aware of who is behind this malicious campaign targeting President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief. He insisted that I have clearly stated that there has been no discussion nor such an idea about asking the President to resign or aspire to take over the President of the Army Chief.

The minister said that the President of Pakistan has strong and respectable relations with the leadership of the armed forces. He quoted President Zardari as saying that I know who is spreading this lie, why they are doing this and who is benefiting from this propaganda. Naqvi stressed that the only focus of the Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir is on the strength and stability of Pakistan and nothing else. Naqvi further said that whatever you want from the people involved in this story, with hostile foreign agencies. As far as we are concerned, whatever will be necessary to make Pakistan strong again, will do Inshallah.

Earlier today, PML-N senator Irfan Siddiqui also denied reports of Zardari’s resignation. Speaking in the Jio News program Jio Pakistan, he said: Reports of Zardari’s resignation, Imran’s arrival, Nawaz Sharif going to Adiala … These are not reports. These are fake, false news.
