Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav announced that the entire match fee from the Asia Cup will be donated to the victims of the Indian Armed Forces and Pahalgam terrorist attacks. India won the Asia Cup by defeating Pakistan by five wickets on Sunday.
Suryakumar wrote on X after the match, “I have decided to donate my entire match fees to our armed forces and Pahalgam terrorist attack victims from this tournament. You are always in my thoughts. Jai Hind. ”Indian players get four lakh rupees in every match in T20 format i.e. Suryakumar will get Rs 28 lakh for seven matches of the tournament.

Significantly, in the final of the Asia Cup 2025, there were many controversial moments after India defeated Pakistan. After winning the title, the Indian team refused to come on stage, as they did not want to accept the trophy from PCB and ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi.

Suryakumar Yadav said in the press conference after the match, “I think since I started playing cricket and since I started following cricket, I have never seen a champion team to be denied the trophy. I mean this is also a hard -earned trophy … I think we were entitled to it and I could not say anything more than it.”
On the other hand, the BCCI will not register a strong protest ‘against Mohsin Naqvi, the head of the Asian Cricket Council, who did not give the trophy to the champion team after the Indian team refuses to take the Asia Cup trophy in Dubai. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia justified the team’s refusal and said that the Indian team cannot take a trophy from anyone who is ‘waging war against the country’. India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final.

Naqvi is the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and is also the Home Minister of her country.
