Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said that the said ASI Baldev Raj has been arrested after investigating the complaint filed by Ram Singh, resident of village Bhal Majra, District Fatehgarh Sahib on the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line. .
Giving further details, he said that the said complainant has alleged in his online complaint that the said policeman has already taken Rs 9000 in two installments as a bribe in return for not registering any police case against his daughter and son-in-law. The complainant further alleged that despite taking bribe, the said policeman has taken criminal action against him. The complainant recorded the entire conversation with the ASI regarding the payment of the bribe amount and handed it over to the Vigilance Bureau as evidence.
The spokesperson said that the Vigilance Bureau Range Ludhiana investigated the complaint and arrested the said policeman after being found guilty of accepting a bribe of Rs 9,000 from the complainant.
In this regard, a case has been registered against the accused police officer at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Ludhiana Range under the section of Prevention of Corruption Act. He will be produced in court tomorrow and further investigation into the matter is on.
