As long as roads remain, pits will continue to take place … MP’s PWD Minister Rakesh Singh’s statement

Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Rakesh Singh is in the news for his recent comment on pits on the streets. He said that as long as the roads remain, there will be pits. Minister Singh made this remark while talking to reporters in the capital Bhopal on Wednesday evening. The minister said that as long as the roads are there, pits will continue. I mean to say that if it has been four years since a road has been built, and his durability is five years old, then it may be that after four years, it will fall into it. But if a road should not have been spoiled for four years, but in six months, it has fallen pits, then it is wrong. Action must be taken.

Rakesh Singh further said that I do not think there will be a road in the world which do not have pits. No such technology has yet come to the Public Works Department. He stressed that the roads which have already deteriorated before their sustainable period, we will get them repaired and will take necessary action. But sometimes roads are built for instantaneous use, so they are not durable for long. Therefore, we have to see which category of roads are, although our effort is not to spoil the roads.

On Rakesh Singh’s statement, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jeetu Patwari wrote on X that “As long as the roads remain, there will be pits!” So, have you become a minister to play cymbals? Congress spokesperson Anand Jat said that the minister should avoid making irresponsible statements and focus on repairing roads. He said that if he cannot do this, he should resign.

He said that there is a commission rule in the whole of Madhya Pradesh. The way the minister is talking about being pits on the streets, it shows that the tradition of BJP’s welfare has started due to commissioning in his Public Works Department. A bridge with about 90 degrees turns is being built and the minister’s statement with pits shows that the BJP is running on a model in which BJP leaders are expert in taking credit, while their accountability is zero. I think the minister should avoid irresponsible statements and focus on repairing roads. If the minister cannot do this, then he should resign.
