A student was killed and three other students were injured in a fire in a government residential school late Saturday night in Sh-Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh. Police gave this information.
SK Thongdok, Superintendent of Police of Sh-Yomi, told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that the incident took place in the boys’ hostel at Papikurung Government Residential School at around two o’clock in the late night.
The official said the injured have been identified as Lukhi Pujen (eight), Tanu Pujen (9) and Tai Pujen (11) and they are being treated at the Zonal General Hospital in Alo in West Siang district while the deceased is yet to be identified.
The official said that a team of police has been sent to this remote village, 17 km from Monigong town to investigate the case. He informed that there is no electricity facility in the village, so investigation is being done to find out the cause of the fire. Papikurung is located just before the last post of the Indian Army in Tadadge village.
